I wanted to show how I got round the problem of owning a Trend T10 router and CRT/MK3 router table and having a router lift. Plus any relevant dimensions, plus my thoughts.

Thank you. Very useful information and pleased I'm not the only one who thought the instructions could be improved.

Thanks for running through this process. It should prove very useful.. a fixed router is not easy or cheap to sort out for the DIYer like me..I was about to go cheap and by the Silverline router table till i found out that only one of their routers actual fit it and the table if flimsy too!. In the end i bought a router lift inc solid 5mm Aluminium top for my ubiquitous Chinese 64mm dia bodied mini router. It does work and is easy to use being top adjusted. After some thought I discovered i could mount my Silverline 264859 1500w beast to it if it situated it at 90 degrees. the holes i needed to make it fit are well away from the other countersunk holes for the mini router lift then. So i can quickly adapt either. I don't have a base like your Trend .. just a piece of 18mm plyboard with the plate routed into it and a Black and Decker workmate.. I will make up a base under it to fix the lifter to.. PS.. the lift rate of those lifters (like any scissor mechanism.. Car Jack etc) is not linear.. ie the lift moves a LOT for very little turning of the thread when it is closed down so I am going to set it so it has already raised 30mm before touching the router at all. That way I'll have an easier job micro adjusting the bit height. I'll also get my cheap cordless screwdriver on that thread to speed up the router movement when hanging bits. Thanks again for the work doing the video.. they are time consuming (I know) and sometimes you get no thanks but a lot of keyboard warriors/critics jumping on you for little reason.. 😁😁😁😁😁😁

I've just done a scheppach one the motor was rubbish so I've put a trend t10 router on, like you say the lift is a problem, I'm hoping the fine adjustment tool will help!

I found it very informative Geoff, a table top table such as that would suit my needs perfectly, though the raising and lowering of the router may be a bit fiddly it wouldn't put me off purchasing the mini lift. I must say your shed looks a palace compared to my hovel lol

Yes the printer instructions are very poor. Just spent today putting it together and I didn’t find it as easy to assemble as I thought.
On the positive front the machining, finish of the parts is excellent with decent gauge ally used wherever possible. Packaging was first class although I would rather have paper bags rather than plastic to contain the various components. The table is melamine faced MDF with a hefty ally fence.
A useful touch is a 13 a socket outlet combined with the on / off- no volts swish box.

I have not fired it up yet but my initial observations are very favourable; well priced, well designed, well machined parts, a solid table, lots of adjustment devices, so all good .
I will resist and review the table in operation.

Oh I meant to add I have just ordered a mini jack for the router I intend to use a beast of a power tool, Lumberjack PR12.

Bye the bye I saw another router set up video that had the man fitting a 1 gang 1 way domestic lighting installation to his router table !

Each to his own but from experience the no volt push switches specifically designed for power tools is a must to avoid accidents
