INSIGHT 2020: Event 28 - An introduction to decision quality

Insight 2020, hosted by the Strategy Unit, was a 6-week Festival of over 30 virtual events held from September to November 2020. The Festival explored some of the challenges facing decision-makers in health and care in 2020 and beyond; emerging models of practice to make best use of analysis to inform decision-making and some of the exciting work already happening in this area.

Insight 2020 featured a mixture of events, workshops, panels and conversations at a local, national and international level.

Decision-making in health and care is complex. Unsurprisingly, although some decisions succeed a significant portion fail and given the increased pressures on leadership, how can we make better decisions.

This session provided an overview of a systematic, practical, approach to enhancing decision quality. The session introduced the concept of decision quality and showed how it could be enhanced.
