Andrew's jumper - with the sloppy neck - was a pattern on Ravelry, but we can't find it anymore...

Andrea's vest was an Australian pattern, but we don't have any more details! Yarn was an Australian Patons 8-ply 100% wool.

Australian Magpies
==================
The segment "Are Knitters like Australian Magpies" was based on the episode "The colourful life of the Australian Magpie" from the program "Off Track" on Australia's Radio National. This is a wonderful program looking at diverse range of topics around Australia's natural environment. Presenter Ann Jones does an amazing job of painting pictures in words, with interviews, commentary and sounds from the field. It's available as a podcast and is a treat if you have any interest in Australian wildlife.

The following Magpie images were used in the segment:

Magpie song recordings were made by Danielle, the Magpieaholic. Danielle seems to have an extraordinary relationship with the magpies in her area, and has some amazing photos and videos. Her site is definitely worth a visit.

Interview with Ulrike Janssen
=============================
Ulrike Janssen is owner of Maschenwahn - which is German for "stitch-crazy".

You can reach the shop easily from the Frankfurt Airport, by taking the S8 in the direction "Offenbach (Main) Ost" or the S9 in direction Hanau Hbf. Get off at the stop "Ledermuseum". The trip by train is around 26 minutes from the airport.

You would be very welcome to drop by for a tea or coffee and some good German cake, a chat with Ulrike and her customers, and a browse of her wools and patterns.

Three things I have in common with you Andrea: Love of knitting (bit of a yarn snob), hatred of sloppy necks, and I'm also a singer! Watching old episodes now and celebrating what a lovely man Andrew was. May his memory be a blessing.

I just found you. Andrew and Andrea, at this challenging time for you and your family I am sending positive thoughts for well being, health and peace. Already I can't get enough of your work and artistry. Luckily I have more than 100 episodes to go. Holding you close. So grateful to you.

This episode is ADORABLE. i love it when Andrew verbally tickles Andrea, playfully interrupting with questions and pushing her buttons. It's a testament to your relationship that you didn't wallop him Andrea! But in all seriousness, it's this kind of charm that makes a podcast so watchable. Thank you for being so generous with your knowledge, skill and your personalities.

I am knitting while I'm listening to you two, and I have a smile on my face the whole time. You two are so adorable! It's nice to see the interaction between a novice knitter and a beginner. Can't wait to see more episodes. Thanks so much for sharing from Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

Thank you for a different kind of knitting podcast. Although I enjoy the Canadian and some American podcasts, yours brings another element to podcasting...learning about knitting. I loved this visit to the wool shop but also very much enjoyed the visit and interview to the woollen and weaving mill. You have inspired me to stretch back into knitting sweaters( which I used to knitted 3 decades ago but gave up for a number of reasons). Please continue to share your style of podcasting.
Ps I prefer co-hosted podcasts so please continue with your partnership on screen. Providing input from an experienced knitter and a beginner knitter is encouraging to a range of knitters. Carry on with your nice work.

Just found you in January 2022 and then signed up to be a Patron. Decided to start the adventure with your family from episode 1. Delightful viewing for many reasons. Thank you much!

I loved your first podcast, very entertaining and informative. I look forward to watching more as I knit. I took some knitting with me on a recent trip to Europe and had fun knitting in some beautiful places in Switzerland and Germany, not quite the extrem weather as Wales. I call the socks, my project, my Euro socks.

Hello! I am working in Ansbach, and will certainly travel to see the shop Maschen Wahn, visit the web site, and look into the other designers. I am so glad to be here in Germany. I found a shop here in Ansbach today, and bought a little something to make a scarf. Mitts and a hat would be more practical, but here we are. I hope I get to meet you Andrea and Andrew, and the lovely furry fellow. I love your program, and recommend it to all my knitting friends. Educational and enjoyable. Knit on!!!

I am so envious of your local yarn shop!!!  Fantastic podcast, knocking it out of  the park once again.  Andrea, you almost have me convinced that even I could knit cables.

Andrew is so endearing towards you love how relaxed 😌 this episode is with the fun banter .
Watch out for Magpies 😦
Earth colours would suit you Andrea .
Beige camel rust love the jumper behind you in the shop .
Check your veins on your wrist if green then warm colours suit, if blue veins cool colours suit, so if blue veins buy a pink that’s more purplish so it’s cool . Xx
My Nan had a wool shop back in 60-70s was lovely hearing about your local shop .

This video just popped up and enjoyed it. I’m using the same yarn, knitting socks like Andrew, slow but sure. I knew a couple who stitched together, perfect partnership. Actually he was the better crafter. I see this is an old video so will checkout others. Tfs
