That's Johnny Black on the bass. Dorsey had quit the band at this point. Johnny was Bill Black's brother. When Sam Phillips called the Black household he asked for Johnny so he could play bass for Elvis' audition. Johnny was taking care of his grandmother in another town. So Bill offered to play and the rest is history.

I played this on a video jukebox in my pub in 1984 The Sports Bar on Putney High Street non stop every time I was in there lol. Happy days!

johnny burnette with his trusty axman, and cliff richards with his own virtuoso lead guitarist are on some next level of 'cool', and their vocals are way beyond amazing

Johnny with Elvis's moves and Gene Vincent's voice, an excellent combination. A late comer to the rock like most were, he and Carl Perkins were going nowhere fast country pickers before Elvis came along. That changed everything.
