What would happen if Earth wasn't tilted

The Earth is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees relative to our orbital plane , the plane of Earth's orbit around the sun. What would happen if it started spinning vertically. can life survive it or there wont be a significant change?

The real question is, why hasn't earth fixed its tilt since

if life got started on a planet that has had such a violent past like earth, maybe life starts easier on planets without "seasons"? and maybe life on non-tilted planets is more normal and peaceful than a tilted planet? and even more tenacious and prolific?

How can you explain a "what if" if you don't know how evolution would work on a planet with no tilt? Evolution could produce things that fit a non-tilted planet. You are assuming that our current evolution would be the same if the planet wasn't tilted and that's not a correct way of understanding evolution. Things would have adapted to a non-tilted planet just like it adapted to a tilted planet. Some plants live great in the equator zone but other would die off if they lived there. You think "What if" and use current status to claim what it would be like....you wouldn't know, none of us would....evolution would be completely different than we know it had the earth remained non-tilted. Really wish people wouldn't put things out like this....it doesn't help people to understand evolution and how we get to the point we're at now.

It is interesting a site like Abu Sir in Egypt exists. Its dynastic constructs are aligned north & south but its older megalith's are aligned 23 degrees off north & south. Can that be a coincidence? Did they build to that alignment to illustrate a historical record of earth? Or at the time it was built there was no tilt of 23.5. The site shows apparent cataclysmic damage not just from aging and wars, I wonder if something was happening to earth for a short period and they built a monument to record the event. Perhaps it marked one side of the earth's precession of its equinox. Life as we know it, the things we are comfortable with would not be likely without the tilt but if we were born on an earth without tilt, we'd of simply adapted somewhere back in the midst of the mist of time, no? May be pointing to a reason so many sites are at or near the equator.

Earth has a 23.4° tilt- like Mars, Saturn, and Neptune (between 24° and 29°). Because the Moon's orbit is only 5° off the ecliptic and secondaries orbit primaries' equators, Earth's equator was the same.

It only tilted after 55 MYA when it had its last thermal maximum. But before, its poles were full of trees and animals. Earth hadn't seasons because its poles were lit all year because trees need light, not just warmth...

Praise God for the tilt. I've often wondered about this. I also wonder about if there were no tilt and no mountain ranges to get in the way of wind patterns. As some believe mountain ranges were not always a thing.
