Hey guys, I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy a bit with your families around Christmas. I said I would post only once a week from now, but I may start only in a few days.

I discovered "Rendez-vous sous la pluie" with Django Reinhardt backing French Singer Jean Sablon in a version from 1935. I'm not sure when the song was composed by Johnny Hess, but this might be the first version so I'd guess 1934 or 1935 (if you have the exact info, please share it in the comments).

This time I'm using a nylon string guitar, with gypsy shape D hole, built in 2012-2013 by the luthier Maurice Dupont, model MCC100, in the style of the early Mario Maccaferri guitars for the Selmer company in the 30s. The guitar is strung with d'addario strings nylon hard tension, and I'm using a Jim Dunlop H pick. The sound is captured with a Neumann TLM 103.

Please share and subscribe if you like what you see

I’m always looking get my guitar collection to evolve so don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you’re selling your vintage archtop or if you want to trade etc.

Stay safe

Oooo...thanks for sharing this! Lovely tune on a great sounding instrument and fantastic vocals as usual. Really great way to start my morning here in Canada.

Very enjoyable and lyrical, matches our morning here in Oregon, USA " sous la pluie" ! Perfect guitar for the tune. I like the Grande Bouche sound and nylon with your pick technique. Thanks.

Interesting model!
In the video it sounds mellow and quiet. Does it have a respectable volume and dynamic level?
