Wendy's by far has higher quality food over McDonald's. When I was in the business my Wendy's spent on average 26-28% on food cost versus the McDonalds down the street that spent around 16%. Unfortunately for Wendy's it comes down to execution. With higher quality comes more difficulty in reproducing the higher standards that Wendy's sets. For McDonald's it's a lot easier to produce same low quality taste from store to store customers expect.

The promotional menu that rotates seals it for me. Pretty much every offering is just on point. Like a Michelin star pot head made it.
