I think one of the biggest tips is to LISTEN. There're so many audio cues for things. If you just ran a bit, he starts to breathe hard. Try and walk or only dodge until that goes away. Flashlight sound hitting an enemy is critical. You can use a flare in a choke point and, not being able to see perfectly as a result, HEAR when you're hitting the enemy on the other side. Especially the heavies that like to run at you, since they'll often stand right there and wait for the flare to die to rush you. And I agree about actually using your gear. At least on normal, they give you a pretty moderate amount of stuff and switching weapons and the like is quick. Make sure you reload when you have a break and switch between things. If there's more than 3 enemies, expect to use a group management tool. It's intentional and often the only way through a lot of situations. There's an early point in episode 3 where you have no weapons, just flashlight and flares for the first time, and there's a guy with a gun doing the killing. It's that way on purpose so that you learn to use those two tools effectively to manage groups and enemies from multiple sides. It's all highly intentional. And frankly, if you're clearly in a position of having little gear because they haven't given you much yet, expect to take damage here and there, judiciously sprint, and see if there's an obvious, lit goal point.

I already had Alan Wake on PC, but it looks absolutely incredible on my PS5...

Honestly the Dodge being tied to stamina is why I hated this game. Because there is no indication that that's why you can't dodge. It feels like you just aren't timing it right.

I can’t lie I stopped playing it when I got to the forest construction site, I couldn’t outrun the enemies and definitely didn’t have enough light to fight them with the limited ammo I found. Maybe I’ll give it another go being that I finished Control, which is in the same universe.

This game bugged as hell. I can't set shoulder view still on the right. It keep changing to left.

Oh no… the gameplay feels “old.” Psshhh we all still like to play super Mario… and they’re remaking good games all the time.. resident evil for example. good is good. (Haven’t made much progress in Alan Wake yet, trying it now, hence watching the video to get an understanding) just don’t get that attitude, “oh this is old so… ya know.. it’s not great…” Skyrim… how many years were people willing to play that? And like I said, super Mario brothers… no matter how many games come out, people fall in love w certain games. Doesn’t matter how “modern, ” they are. I’m enjoying this one so far. Don’t care what year it was made. (Metal gear solid.. I’ll still run a play through on that… crash bandicoot, Uncharted 2, donkey Kong.. there’s a million classics.. decades apart.. age of game doesn’t matter. That’s all I’m sayin. Good game= good game.. hell people still love Tetris my man.)

Tip number 1 play the original 360 version yes it does not look as good but it plays better and has all the logos still like ford and Energizer batteries it's the little things that ground you

Got softlocked because I forgot to pick up ammo and don't have enough to kill all the enemies. Don't feel like starting over so I'll just have to watch a plot summary video.
