I heard some of the north korean soldiers are surrendering to the ukraine and getting their freedom basically saying they get treated better than they were in north korea in a ukraine detention camp

genuinely, this train wreck of an operation is mindbogglingly insane

Language barrier is a real thing for sure. While doing a huge training event in Germany the Italian army misunderstood their target coordinates and launched some motor rounds where our troops were located. Luckily no one was injured but when trees start to explode by you and you’re not in a war zone that’s quite concerning lol

A government that does not care if you live or not, and an enemy more than happy to shoot you. smh

The fact that the NK soldiers believe life is better on the front lines are better than what they get back home tells you all you need to know about NK. Maybe RU is using the NK to keep the RU troops from retreating from the battlefield. Seems like they are so far behind they are more of a liability than an asset on the battlefield.

that is exactly why NATO always have interoperability field training exercises for years. not only language, but also ammo, software and hardware are compatible…

are you actually suggesting the tiktok battalion is one of the most feared? the guys that hang out 100 miles from the front shooting into the woods while recording on their phones to look cool

This is an example of throwing parties together practically "cold". Each are potentially more dangerous to each other than to the adversary they are suppose to fight. That is why organizations like NATO and Trilateral Defense Consultations (US-Australia-Japan) train together.

It could have been worse. Back in 1788 during the Astro Turkish War, drunken Austrian soldiers accidently killed about 10000 of their own Austrian Empire soldiers thinking they were being attacked by the Ottomans. The Austrian Empire was made up of many ethnic groups who did not speak German, the primary language of the empire. The fight started over alcohol.

I'm sorry but the Akhmat battalion is a freaking joke, the most battle they've ever fought is probably shooting at a random bush and shooting at a stoplight all of which didn't return fire cause if it did they'd probably lose.

When you have 80000 storm corp. Special forces the special becomes medicore.
Its like the chest full of medals they all wear. Just for show.
Since have not fought in 70 years what are the medals for? Keeping in line in parads?

Typical brain dead situation. More power after sacrificing lives. If it was a real estate deal for money who in their right mind would buy property that is devastated blown apart for personal games.

I think it's funny how the phrase "Special Forces" is so overused by countries. In our country, for the most part, it refers to folks who are trained for special functions outside of the normal wheelhouse of their counterparts. It DOES NOT mean that everyone in the US who wears that tab is a hardcore killer. You can work in Supply and have a Special Forces tab. I have done plenty of Special Operations, but I would NEVER compare myself to a SEAL!!!!

When it comes to Russia and North Korea, it is similar, but on a more watered-down level. Special Forces could mean anything from Rangers-Adjacent to a guy who drives at night. Even Spetsnaz is a wide array of jobs, with some of them being highly capable and others who can barely speak sentences. As for North Korean Special Forces? They are only special because they are fed more than once per day. There is no standard kit for North Korea or Russia, and dressing yourselves uniformly is a basic hallmark of an organized military.

Could the argument be made that NK sent 10, 000 troops into a meat grinder to create veterans? combat experience being seen as a pyrrhic victory.. 8000 loss to create 2000 active combat veterans @ a standing army of 1.3mil are acceptable losses..

I saw a video of a Russian who surrendered to Ukraine and said the north korean soldiers were shooting at them, he said he thought they killed a Russian. This was weeks ago
