THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH XENDESKTOP 7.x !!!!

Citrix Virtual Desktop Agent is the Core Componente of a XenDesktop´s Virtual Deskop Infrastructure. I teach you in this Video, how to set up the VDA Agent to allow Connections from anywhere, without a XenDesktop Environment in the Background.

As this Video is thought only for Citrix Admin´s, I dont tell anything about WAN Access Configuration or Ports and so on,..

It should last only for 30 days but they forgott to implement it. It runs on my PC now for several month without any problem.

XenDesktop is Free for up to 10 Users. The Edition is called Express Edition. License is issued for 1 year and has to be renewed then again.
XenDesktop can be purchased through any partner in your country.
Just search for "Citrix Distributor NameOfYourCountry" and you will find a Distributor that will recommend you a Partner to sell you a License if you want to buy them.
I think there is also a Link on citrix dot com > Products > XenDesktop > How To buy.

@loopdeer All 3D Applications that are not using opengl or direct 3d will work without hdx pro. But if you have a partner account you get the hdx license file for free. With the demo (express edition)I think not

i've seen the video, really impressive, now i'm trying to replicate your steps but on my citrix there is only xendesktop 7 or xendesktop 5.6 and not the link to beta software.
if i download xendektop 7 i can do the same thing you do with avalon ?

Could you help me to understand the difference between Xendesktop, Xenclient, Xenserver ? They all look alike for the same functions of virtualization. And BTW, what´s the similar products on the market for Xendesktop ? Would be Windows Server 2016, vmware workstation ? Thank you.

Thanks for this video!
I installed the Virtual Desktop Agent 7 and add the reg-keys (HighAvailability=1 and HaRegistrarTimeout=10).
Only after a reboot the Windows 7 machine will not enter the High Availability mode.

When I test it with telnet to port 1494, the port is not answering also the Event Viewer is showing no errors or warnings..
Do you have a tip?

You need to update this as the software required to be downloaded is no longer available. Can you please let us know what we should download? Pointing out that this only works for 5.6 FP1 isn't enough information. Thank you.

you have to disable the UAC (User Account Control).
Otherwise the Apps are missing or will bring up an error if you start them.

I am trying to replicate with XD 7.1 but when I try to connect using ICA file it stops in "Negotiating capabilities" and then it closes the client while the VDA machine locks the user session. After the first attempt both machines have to be rebooted for replicate the same behaviour. I think it is because there is no license server running. What I am doing wrong?
