It’s easy to explain if you understand the natural law of Pareto distributions, it appears in every discipline from economics to biology to geography it’s why river systems look the same as blood vessels etc… it’s not some crazy answer it’s basically a law of simplicity….

The speed of light could correspond to a neural network. Especially if time is relative. Just because our own brains fire fast to us, doesn't mean an entity with the universe as a brain wouldn't also experience its just as fast. So just because light takes any finite about of time to travel doesn't mean a thing.

If we are in somebody's mind, whose mind is that person in? And how many more beyond? Also, how many universes could each of us hold in ourselves?

I love universe theories! We have so many possibilities, and only our tiny perspective and knowledge to go on. It's still fun though!

The problem with the universe being a mind is the speed of light. By the time information reached another node there's a good chance the destination wouldn't exist anymore. Also we operate on what would be a galactic neurotransmitter level yet we can physically see there are no packets of information traversing the intergalactic void. If there were some sort of intergalactic faster than light transmission route we, so far, have been completely unable to detect it or detect its secondary affects.

The mind that the universe supposedly comprises would be completely incapable of generating a thought before the substrate transmitting changed or degraded to the point where the thought would be lost or useless by the time it reached its destination.

What's more likely is that distribution patterns are scalar. From brain cell patterns, to tree branch formations, to river pathing, right on up to galactic distribution.
