Leicester Square: Man arrested after girl stabbed in London

A shop security guard has said he tried to save an 11-year-old girl as she was being attacked by a knifeman in London’s Leicester Square.

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a double stabbing in central London. An 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman have been injured after the incident in Leicester Square. Their conditions are currently unknown.

The Met Police has confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the incident. The man, who has been pictured being detained by officers, is in custody and he is thought to be the only suspect.

The suspect was apprehended by a 29-year-old security guard, who claims he “jumped on” the knife-wielder.
