I haven't cross stitched in a few years, but it's ok to catch your stitched area in the hoop. You may have to loosen the outer circle a little because of the extra thickness, but your stitches are locked in place well, so they won't move. They may get flattened, but that fluffs back out when you wash and block the piece. Iron it on the back side, on a folded towel, to keep from flattening the stitches. Your Sweet Shop is gorgeous!

I love your channel so real and your work is AMAZING Emily. Could you please, when making the other TOFT tree frog show us how you did the eye part?!🙏 I’ve tried and tried but I end up with one eye on one side and one on the other!!!! I really enjoy watching your videos, and I'm loving all the different crafts. I too would love to move my wardrobe more handmade, so I really look forward to seeing your progress on that. The sweet shop blanket is beautiful and the colours are fabulous 🥰. I didn't know about the ribbon on the hoop trick for cross stitch as mentioned in one of the other comments, that's great to know!

I adore your blanket! Also, with the shorties, if you have a hard time with them, try having the longer needle as the working needle, and the shorter one on the left. It didn't work for me, but my friend swears by it.

Gosh you are a great knitter and crochet you could always crochet short sleeves t-shirt like tops from cotton yarns👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I don't cross stitch but I have several friends who do and they use square frames that snap together.
