The fact that you missed the UFO shaped McDonalds in Roswell New Mexico is VERY shocking. I Lived in Roswell for many years and remember when that one was built.

My niece was one of the workers who wired the Barstow McD's. I can't believe you left out a McD's in Glendale CA. It is absolutely beautiful with its decor and artwork. It is also the only McD's that I have found who serves hot soft pretzels.

Chicago used to have wonderful ones. An elegant one with brass planters and two stories on State Street. The Rick & Roll McDonald's. The charming Theater District McDonald's. The architecturally unique and dreamlike "Floating McDonald's" in Berwyn, for me the epitome of the 80s. And the futuristic one at Navy Pier!

My friend grew up in Vinita, OK. She said the McDonald's over the highway is the main reason people know that small town.

I have been to Barstow and Downey. The Barstow location used to be a must-visit on the way to Las Vegas, especially on a chartered bus. The Downey location used to have nearly all MCD creations like McDoggie and McRib under the original management. I thought the other Orlando location would be featured, also. It is one of the biggest locations in the world.

There is a unique McDonald's in Asheville, NC by the Biltmore Estate. It has a gold ceiling and chandeliers

One correction: the McDonald's headquarters relocated from Oak Brook Illinois, not Des Plaines, to the West Loop of Chicago. Des Plaines I believe was home to the first franchise McDonald's. Other fun fact: the Chicago headquarters is at the former location of Harpo studios where Oprah used to do her show.

The Illinois tollways also have rest stops called Oasis, most of which have McDonald's in them. Like the Oklahoma location the common area is an indoor bridge built over the tollway where you can have your McDonald's and watch the traffic drive beneath you.

I was in Sedona recently and laughed every time we passed that McDonald’s and the tourists taking photos with it. Like people, look around you, Mickey Dee’s isn’t it. It was an eye pleaser though.
