The first side of the film I shot mostly in my car while driving from Unanderra to Fairy Meadow then to North Wollongong, I pretty much took random captures during my drive. The 2nd half of the film I shot up around Wollongong Harbour (Belmore Basin) capturing the old and new lighthouses and boats and South Beach. The film did struggle through the camera when shooting side 2 so there was a lot of stop start but got the film to the end, and also the camera's shutter control slipped from "open" to 1/4 so some of the footage got grossly underexposed arrgh but oh well.

I developed the film in Caffenol C-M using the following parameters:
Develop 4 min at 20 deg C
Wash 4 min
Fix in Ilford Hypam fixer 5 min
Wash 3 min
Rub remaining rem jet off in bucket of water
Wash

Given the age of this film and the perils of shooting it, it came out very well. The film was curly longitudinally so it was a bit of a job for the transfer guy to digitize this film and the scanner did drop some frames here and there and the focus shifted in and out so hence the intermittent blur. Anyhow on viewing the film there's a lot of scratches and blotches and personally I love it from an artistic standpoint, the blotches are actually caused by some of the rem jet sticking to the emulsion side on shooting while the film rolled from start to finish. Anyways shooting and processing this film was an awesome experience and I love the result! :)

This film was probably stored better - cooler than the ones I get in South Africa. Ive had some similar results but with film from late 70s or 80s. In most cases i don't get any image.

have you tried using peroxide/vinegar reversal process? you will only get a black and white positive, or more like brown and white, but it seems to work a lot better then making a negative, less dense!

Also, was this a cartridge film? it looks like it from the photo. I have been trying to use the ones i have and the film doesn't advance in the camera, yet everything moves properly as it should. Do you know how the film is attached inside? is it taped? if so then maybe my film has come loose from dried adhesive..
