Until the year 1054 CE the Church was one. thanks you sister Barbera for sharing, the intro of the video was supprising .When i was in Highschool in HistoryClass i saw a lot of these objects in The History books we got, than later i came to the knowledged that these are related to sunworship, i see them in pictures and video in different places in the world, and i am fasting and praying i am worried, why would anyone worship the sun or the moon 🤷🏻‍♀️ ? the sun is hot ? and the moon is cold ? Correction: I stated "Stone Age" I was quoting from Wikipedia, but I would say since the Tower of Babel the worship of the obelisk has existed.
The Roman Catholic Church adopted an Egyptian pagan obelisk and placed a cross on its peak, thus combining the two meanings. Emperor Caligula in 37 CE brought this particular obelisk from Egypt to Rome.

Obelisk does not mean shaft of Bel. The Greek word obelisk does not mean this at all. Although it's easy to speculate this is what it refers to, by them.
The word obelisk is meaningless because it was coined by early Greek historian Herodotus. The only word that matters is what the Egyptians called it.
The ancient Egyptians called obelisks tekhenu, which means "to pierce" or "to pierce the sky".
