My friend bought his son a manual as his first car. His reasoning was this:

To me, these reasons are not good enough for me to choose auto over a manual. I find the reason 4 on backroads to be a bit weak, I'd say that's the beauty of manuals, it forces to be even more focused and engaged in your driving. Experimenting and finding out what is the ideal gear to be in every corner.

The only way this video will offend you is if you don't drive at all. If you actually drove a manual, you would understand that they are correct. As a daily driver, an automatic is far better. This is the reason I bought an automatic fusion to daily, and a manual Porsche to play around on. Yes a manual is more fun, but not at 6 on the morning in the middle of traffic. Gotta love YouTube comments.

People who daily manual transmissions are way more likely to enjoy driving in general. If you need 2 separate cars, 1 for fun and 1 for work, you obviously have a split personality about cars.

Manual transmission are better than automatics. Plain and simple. Joy of driving, feeling connected to the car, having increased control over wheelspin/takeoffs, rev matching downshifts, ability to engine brake,  better MPG, easier to maintain fix & replace, cost less overall, are capable of handling more power, & makes you look cool, are just the highlights of the manuals dominance over auto! Long live manual transmissions!
