Rebuilding a Bing Carburetor on a Vintage Puch Maxi

A fairly aggressive fuel leak developed on my 1980 Puch Maxi Luxe. Upon closer survey the leak appeared to be originating from the Bing carburetor. I knew I would be turning a wrench on this moped as soon as I considered acquiring one, which is exactly what I found myself doing. As a novice, this was my first attempt at tinkering on an engine, so bear with me as I work my way through it.

From what I can tell, the leak was the result of a missing gasket on the throttle connection and possibly a poorly adjusted float bowl. At least that’s my working theory.
