The Middlewood Way: Marple to Macclesfield

The "linear park" of the Middlewood Way is a trail of 11 miles following the route of the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway from... well, Macclesfield to Marple, via Bollington. It's well-used by cyclists and horse-riders, and I thought I would give it a go on foot.

Walked this former railway route in its earlier time 1997. A great route then and now.
Pity you didn't get chance to descend from Bollington viaduct and explore the historic town and canalside. Really fascinating! Live in East Anglia now and still walking former railway routes.

Also combined my other lifetime interest flying and gliding to explore disused transport routes by air.

Happy exploring!
