I've seen pants do that when you have your pants on backwards. The Mfg put extra fabric in the back and less in the front. So those pants you spoke of, were tight in the back and boofy in the front. Love the dresses and all. Nice.

Some designers don’t realize that a petite has a longer rise. That’s counterintuitive, but usually true.
When designing for plus sizes some designers put pleats in the front to give more room for a larger stomach area.
