Nick & June - Between The Wars (5x10 season finale)

-you're a liar. You say that because you want to feel like a good man.

This is not only about Nick, this is about June as well. It is what she's doing with Luke. She just wants to be a good wife and she is feeling guilty she cheated on him while he waited for her. She also tries to make up for the fact she couldn't save Hannah and she might be lonely that's why she is holding on to him so desperately.

But you can tell by their scenes she doesn't love him the way she loves Nick. Frankly it was soooo easy for me as a vidder to prove my point.
because there're literally so many scenes with Luke where she's either uncomfortable, or distant or simply doesn't want him! Just look! You just wouldn't be able to find such things with Nick. That speaks really loud about her true feelings.

"They even don't see each other in the last episode and they're so in love they can't think about anything else". I love how they mirrored "i'm nothing" with "tell him i'm okay"! it was so beautiful! her thinking about him every minute knowing he would be worried as hell. in spite of thinking he had moved on!!!
It really is heartbreaking she doesn't know what he did for her.

oh and something i want to add. They are so sincere with each other but haven't even openly discussed they want to be together. it is because June hasn't realized this yet? what do you think?

This season was so poor with #osblaine content goddamn it, despite Bruce saying it's their most romantic season, nope, we have eyes. and we've been robbed!!!! that's just a fact. but thanks anyway, the scenes were gorgeous!

June loves Luke the same way Nick loves Rose, they love them because they are good people that love them. But when it comes to Nick and June, they love each other because of who they are, the good and bad, they find strength and love in each other. It’s consuming and soulful.

Haven't watched this video yet but I'll like it anyways. I've been waiting for the Nick and June edits ever since I saw that episode. He broke my heart and stomped on it. From him racing to her as soon as he found out what had happened, to his quiet sadness and regret in the hospital room. The tender, loving kiss on her forehead. But when he said he's nothing, oh God I felt that to my bones. It hurt me so. For the first time in this entire series we actually saw Nick lose it in front of everyone when he hauled off and bitch slapped Lawrence. People say it's out of character but actually it's totally within his nature. This was who he was before Gilead. June has awakened him from the deadness inside. He came so close to losing the love of his life and the worst part is he can't even be there to protect her. He's never been in that position before. I hope we get that Hawaii reunion next season. They deserve it 🥺💔

Jesus, Nick really killed me in this episode. Why does he think so little of himself? Why does he have to be so infuriatingly selfless? I mean, it's a huge part of why I love him so much, but daaaamn. He's doing it again, he's taking himself out of the picture, because he thinks she's better off with Luke. He probably also still thinks she loves Luke more than him.
Btw, what do you think about Rose? Because I was kinda surprised by that last scene. I thought she knew what kind of marriage she was in? He told her about June, so she knew his heart was already taken. And I do think he cares about her, just not in a romantic way. Do you think she'll cause trouble for him now? Will she tell anyone about him and June? Also Hannah's fake dad was looking at Nick very knowingly when he punched Lawrence, so he might be trouble for him too. I'm worried.
100% agree that she's telling herself to love Luke out of duty and guilt. Of course she also wants him to be safe etc but it's not the kind of all consuming love she has for Nick. You're right, if they could just tell each other that they would always choose each other... ugh!
Anyways, thank you for giving us this beautifully heartbreaking video to hold on to while we wait for the new (hopefully better for us) season. I'm so mad they only gave us like 3 scenes of them this season and she wasn't even conscious in one of them!

Such a great video! I’m so hopeful for season 6 that they will end up together like they deserve after EVERYTHING they have been through together. All of the times he had to let her go by trying to get her out of that place b/c he loved her. I’m glad Luke finally let her go the same way that Nick has had to for 5 seasons!
