The shadow behind your character means you have a gemhigh. A gem high is when you have 100 gems, then you do more damage

When you get Gem High, Your weapon becomes stronger.

You wall jump by pressing into the wall, then hitting away from the wall and fire/jump in succession very quickly. (I think.)
