I really like ballet and I wanted to do it for so long but when I was young my mother couldn’t afford it so now I’m a 17 year old overweight girl .
I really wish to lose weight and start learning ballet now 🥑

She's a yes for me; and I like that she simply "wants to be seen as a dancer", without making race an issue and/or the main focus of attention & controversy.  There's no reason to incorporate race in every single sentence &  interview and make it a 'mantra'.  Just wish she would refrain from constantly saying, "I'd be like".   :)

I never read or saw interviews wherein Myrna Kamara, a world renowned principal dancer of color, made her race an issue, and she's an exceptional ballerina.

I don’t judge people by their color I don’t even focus on it and for those who do you don’t want that to happen to you

Oooh--this one is a no for me! I am black no matter what room or dance studio I walk into; I always want to be seen as a black woman, because that is who I am. I see my blackness as an asset and not a hinderance; my color, my culture, my hair are all part of my superpowers!
