Wow! Just his usual fantastic self. It's not just his skill, which is unquestionably among the very best living acoustic guitar players, but his arrangements which are always beautiful and melodic. There are several other acoustic "one man band" players on the Tubes right now that are extremely skillful, but the beauty in the music can get lost in all the thumps and scratches and taps. Tommy is always concerned first about the melody and then supporting it with beautiful counter melodies moving in the chords and easily accessible rhythms to draw in the listener. Gentle, beautiful, extremely melodic, but also requiring extremely complex techniques and virtuoso skill. Always amazing.

Mr. Tommy! Thank you! My Dad is in critical care with really bad pneumonia. He is the only real cowboy I know. And the joy of that tune could sum up a whole day talking to him, or just hanging around him talking to his friends. He is hanging in there. Thank you for making me think of him in his best light. I first saw Tommy perform in 1998 at a small venue in Sydney called the Basement, and the experience changed me in ways big and small. Since then I’ve attended nearly a dozen of his shows and have been inspired and enriched each time. Quite possibly the best guitar player alive today.

Hey @tommyemmanuel I know you mentioned during covid lockdowns you were struggling with depression and not being able to do live shows. It's comforting to see you smile again and sharing your beautiful talents with all of us. Know you're not alone and some of us seek out your music in times of need. You've helped countless, nameless people navigate hard times and we all appreciate the heck out of you for it. It's hard when we're all forced against our wills to just "get by". There's a great Rumi quote I was thinking about while you were playing. It's something like:
"We alchemists look for talent that can heat up and change. Lukewarm won’t do. Halfhearted holding back, well-enough getting by? Not here.”

Glad to see you are on fire again and not just getting by.
