Thanks to Shohei Ohtani the MLB felt special last night for the first time in a long time, We give our Dumpster Fires of The Week, and did Brian Callahan go too far with Will Levis? Our take, absolutely not. The #NFL is not a soft league. "Callahan went too far" is a soft take. We don't do soft takes on Hot Mic.

When he got 40/40, he did it in a spectacular fashion with a grand slam HR. He got 51/51 with crazy stats.. 😳😳

Seeing him do this live, at the park, was the greatest thrill of my life. I have never seen a historic sports moment in person, I am so happy I got to see him do it. Shohei is the greatest player to ever put on a baseball glove in the history of the game, period.

I bought my father father replacement Dodgers hat last night and ohtani broke the record. I told Dad it was his lucky hat. My head is still in good shape and so is my son's. Our family has been Dodger fans from Brooklyn to La. This was awesome. I am going to keep the receipt to that hat as a record.

I've seen him hit two of his grand slams in person. Clutch. Not afraid of the moment. My hope is that young people see him and feel drawn to the game of baseball. It's still a great past time.

6 for 6, 3 homers, 10 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, 20 total bases, 10 runs, hitting almost a cycle. All on a night when he clinched 50/50 for the first time in history with Dodgers making the playoffs. Setting a team record for HRs. All this when he is also a regular a starting pitcher.

And the 51st homer came when all the others were already accomplished. Possibly the greatest single individual performance in a game in MLB history.

Ohtani is already a first ballot Hall of Famer. Absolute superstar. Just needs a World Series Championship to cement his legacy as the GOAT.

He didnt "join" the 50/50. He created it. Insane game from an insane player. gOhtani.

Shohei has introduced Americas past time to the world. Its not just his tremendous 1:1 athletic abilities but its how he carries himself. Its a blessing and we can all say we are witnessing history, a one of a kind athlete smashing MLB records with grace.

I believe shohei Otani is Babe Ruth re-incarnation .

Had Ohtani successfully stolen 3rd base, he would have had the CYCLE with his 51-51.

We always are comparing players separated by 2-3 generations (or more) of players. Shohei is the only reason I got interested in baseball again. There have been many comparisons to Ruth over the years and the comparisons have all been great players themselves. The one stat the everybody (including this show) is batting average, especially lifetime batting average. However Shohei has stolen more bases in the last 3-4 years than Ruth had in his career which of course generates runs much like a 2 out single does, sometimes. Great show today.

Shohei didn’t join the 50/50 club. He’s the founder and sole member.

he pitched 50-60 balls before the game for warmup

you know you are good when you get the entire stadium of the opposing team to cheer for you.

He’s 52/52 now… 9 games left in regular season… could he go 60/60 before playoffs?

He wrote a page in the record book, a triple away from writing a whole chapter. Ohtani and the Bananas have made the game fun for me again. WWVS - What Would've Vin Said?

Cant wait to see him pitch a no hitter, stolen base, HR and go for the cycle IN ONE GAME

I’m a huge Shohei fan. But he has to win World Series rings to be better than the Babe. I have him 2nd ahead of Ty Cobb 3rd as of now.
