Balls were not replaced as much as today. Ruth and Ohtani are both amazing players and would be amazing no matter what era they played in.

He's already earned his own room at the Hall of Fame. Mookie Betts is a great player but was asked recently who he would put on his Mt Rushmore of baseball players of all time. He named Ohtani as the only current player to be there. And let David Justice know, Ohtani can play the field as well. He's done it in the past. But he would only go there if he's unable to pitch again.
