Britain has moved a step closer to leaving the European Union... with the House of Lords passing a bill that allows Prime Minister Theresa May to start talks to leave the EU.
This comes after the House of Commons rejected changes to the bill on Monday and sent it back to the upper chamber for them to vote again.
The House of Lords voted to pass the original bill, throwing out amendments on giving protections to EU citizens in a post-Brexit Britain and calling for a "meaningful vote" on any divorce deal.
Prime Minister May is now free to invoke Article 50, triggering two years of exit negotiations, by her self-imposed deadline of March 31st.
