Lately I find myself going back into Xplane lot more than I thought I would after MSFS. There is still something about the lighting, atmosphere and the feel of flight that MSFS hasn’t been able to capture yet.

X Plane 12 has some of the best soundscapes I've heard in any game. Daniela is an absolute wizard for what she has done. Seriously, just loading a cold and dark plane on the ramp on a rainy or windy day is an immersive experience.

MSFS is my main sim right now but I find myself enjoying the lighting especially at night a lot more in XP-12. Also it could just be me but the sense of speed feels better in XP-12

Everyone talks about how MSFS graphics are insane, yadda yadda yadda. They are good, very good. But, X-Plane 12 is mind blowing IMO and only getting better (minus ground textures which we have ortho for). I fly/sim on a 55'' 4k monitor, and some of the scenes I experience with x-plane12 with all the environmental and lighting going on, makes me forgot I'm sitting in front of a screen. I don't ever get that immersion with MSFS, and I've given it ample opportunity. This coupled with XP's flight dynamics makes it a master piece. I think it's only a matter of time before the larger community and the developers realize this and come 'back home'.

I use 98% X-Plane. Even for VFR, I have started using X-Plane. Yes, the graphics are worse than MSFS, but modded it looks quite good and the physics are way ahead of MSFS. It feels good to fly X-Plane.

XP12 is amazing !!! I just love that and I m looking forward for the 12.10 release. I m quite disappointed that all the developper moved away from XP, en fact there is not too many addon available esoecially the airports.
But the feeling when y are flying with XP is simple magic

Xplane has an unrivaled flight model, this is what has kept me with it for all this time. I fly Irl now too, and it behaves so well.

I gotta admit even though MSFS wowed me into a purchase with its scenery, the lighting in XP12 is really stunning. Especially night and evening lighting. Edit: The sound design as well.

The first seen on the aircraft carrier - raindrops on the canopy, yet the flight deck(very empty personnel wise ) is dry, that really breaks the immersion. The Glider shot makes me wonder about how they work the wind and heat risers in the atmosphere to make a glider really work like the real thing. All in all; X-plane 12 looks pretty good but has a ways to go yet.

X-Plane seems to fly better for me, I came over to X-plane after flying every MS sim from 5.0 for Dos up to FSX.

do you use orbx for New York too or is that all built-in? scenery is the one thing that is a mystery to me with xplane...
