The Mercedes Benz W124 performance versions, the E500 / 500E is the first to come to mind, since it technically laid the foundation for a future lineup of V8-powered Mercedes performance sedans. Then came the E60 AMG “Hammer” with a bigger V-8 and more power. The Brabus 6.5, however, is even more special. In addition to being even more powerful, there’s only one in existence.
The car is unique in more than one way, but the most important thing here is that it’s a one-off. Actually, the W124 BRABUS 6.5 is based on one of the 147 E60 AMGs made, so it’s an extremely rare version of an already rare car.

What BRABUS did was take an E60 AMG and enlarged the 32-valve M119 V-8 from 6.0 to 6.5 liters of displacement. The predicted 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time is around 4.6 seconds and the 155 mph (250 km/) speed limiter has been removed.

In addition, 70 percent of the electronics have been replaced (also part of the conversion) and the people at BRABUS blessed the W124 with their own ASRIII traction control system. Other BRABUS improvements include an exhaust system, revised suspension, steering, bigger wheels and tires, an integrated navigation system, as well as monotone lower cladding, and other paint corrections.
