From Franchise Mode to Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty, the excitement of year-to-year releases has faded drastically. Here are some things San Diego Studios can borrow from the past and take inspiration from to get MLB The Show 25 back to its former glory.

The lack of an online franchise is wild. Would play that all year with people especially through the winter after DD content stopped

They give zero love to franchise mode because that doesn't make them money. Even the live roster updates are half @ss. There are statistics on players all over, but hey, just wing it.

My first The Show game was 21 and I was a casual, super casual MLB fan.

The series made me reinvest back into the league and my Mets.

I've retired three players through 21 and 22 Road to the Show mode.

But, 23 was painfully boring and I just spend all that time in DD.

Actually go back to more detail in RTTS. I didn't know all that stuff about going to college from the old games. Give us a "drama" menu. I wanna complain about my coach. I wanna make trouble in the media. Dammit, I wanna be Anthony Rendon!

Realistic regression would make the stats something you have to manage instead of every player becoming a god tier player at 32 and never retiring until like 50 years old.

Better news menus with "Race to MVP" type stuff.

NBA 2K11's MyCareer is better than RTTS.

That out of position idea was just garbage...it was desperate. It was just a bunch of SDS create-a-players. We stopped playing the game at that point.

I love DD and I’ve played it religiously since like 18 but this season I got burnt out after season 1 ended. I didn’t want to grind everyday again to reacquire all the top cards.

Need a salary cap mode for DD tired of super squads every game madden done this and it was amazing

Im still shocked that they did not add Manny and A-rod through out the Jeter storyline

Sadly, with MASSIVE layoffs across the board in the gaming industry there is ZERO chance we see any notable improvements for next year. Best hope is a return to prior content models. As for new modes and big updates, not happening.

Honestly what keeps me from playing franchise mode (which historically has always been my favorite) is the absolutely busted trade/free agent logic, its so easy to trade for and sign pretty much anyone you want and players on other teams will get signed for contracts that make ZERO sense (Pete Alonso signed for 4 years 28 million in a franchise i had this year) it completely breaks my emersion and frustrates me to no end

SDS high ups should be fired. The game is so stale, and just keeps becoming more and more of a money grab. Video is 100% accurate.

I hate that when you get all the Rewards, you get bum ass selections. It should be amazing cards if you finish early.

100% agree with you, they need to make one game and updated it, instead of a new game every year

Some of us don't have the time to grind every season. Let us use all of our cards throughout the year to keep us engaged. Make it a battlepass at the very least of some sort. I would be playing way more but I turn on my console and realize the only time I have to put into the game is grinding for cards I won't have much time to use as they will expire by that point.

Get rid of sets and seasons and bring back your created player in DD with being able to level him in dd

I also miss having the pitcher hit. Ik the league changed it but I think it was a lot more fun interesting to have your pitcher. Hit say it’s the 5th inning it’s a tied game with a runner on 2nd and 2 outs with your pitcher up to bat now you have to make the decision to either keep them in or take them out for a pitch hitter. Also with the new change I don’t use the bench whatsoever

The show creators complaining about server issues (and the amount of them we see with MLB 24) just shows how ignorant they are with the fan base. They’ve had years to upgrade their backend infrastructure, and it clearly shows they spent the bare minimum creating any sort of updated environment. If 25 doesn’t contain a full re-haul, with added modes and features, then I’m done spending any sort of money on this game.

It'd be cool if MLB the Show did something like Power Pros with "Live Scenario" mode where you can play Scenarios made by them of the MLB games that happened the day before or after or you could play online scenarios by others. The ones made my team is where you could earn stubs and stuff.

I’ve been playing the show since 12 and after DD19. It feels like I’m playing the same game for 7 years. Small adjustments don’t help. They need a new game engine badly. The same grind year to year gets old and tired
