French toast just became even easier 💯

Have you tried Overnight French Toast? 🍞
.
Ingredients:
• ¾ loaf of bread
• 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
• 1 C 2% milk
• ¼ C maple syrup + more to taste
• 6 eggs
• 1 T vanilla extract
• 3 T granulated sugar
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• ½ C blueberries
• ½ C raspberries
• Whipped cream to garnish
Procedure:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, place the sliced bread on 1-2 baking sheets. Once the oven has preheated, add the baking sheets to the oven just long enough for the bread to get slightly toasted. Afterwards, slice the bread in half to prepare for the skillet.
2. Next, add the evaporated milk plus the next 4 ingredients to a bowl and mix until combined. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
3. Layer the sliced bread in a well-oiled skillet (no rhyme or reason to this, whatever works best!) and add the milk mixture on top then sprinkle with the spice mix. Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 15 minutes up to 24 hours.
4. When ready to cook, preheat the grill or oven to 350 degrees, making sure to take the skillet out of the fridge in enough time for it to come to room temperature. Once the grill has preheated, add the skillet to the grill, covered, for 20 minutes. After that time, remove the foil and continue cooking until the liquid has evaporated and the top of the bread is slightly browned.
5. Remove from the grill and shut off the heat source.
To Finish:
1. Garnish the French toast with raspberries, blueberries, maple syrup, and whipped cream. Serve & enjoy!
