Coca-Cola Hot Air Popcorn Maker

Its a modified hot air hair dryer, now used to pop corn kernels.

Probably I can use three soda cans.

First Can: open on top and bottom; with wire mesh inside to keep the kernels from falling out. At the can's open bottom, this is where the hair dryer's nozzle will be pointed into.

Second can: open at the bottom to join the open top of the First Can.
Small opening at the top, this is where corn kernels will go through.
Big opening at the side, near the top, this is where the third can will connect with a slant downward angle.

Third Can: open on top and bottom. one end connected to the Second Can, other end as a spout where popcorns fall out towards a bowl.

Probably need a makeshift stand so the construct will stay upright.


Since its a hair dryer, it will use the Convection Process. Hot air will go through all the popcorn from the bottom up and cook them all at the same time.

When those corns pop, they will be bigger and has more surface area so the hot air will lift them up towards the opening above and towards the waiting bowl.

I recent got this machine .. about how long does it take for the popping sound to start decreasing because I can't hear the popping over the motor running on it .. I don't want burnt popcorn each time

Did you preheat the machine in this video? Considering purchasing it but many reviews complain about unpopped kernels

I got one yesterday. Haven't tried it. I didnt realize it was just an air popper and really wanted one that I can put oil into. I gather this would ruin the machine?

I bought one and at the start about 40 unpopped kernels get carried out by popped corn...I looked in the bottom of the bowl and there was a shocking amount of unpopped corn there.

Shall I add some sugar if I like sweet popcorn?

someone donated this same popcorn machine to me without the red top to cover the hole at the top, will it still work if I cover it with something else?

I have one just like this except it doesn't say coke on it. Half of the kernels didn't pop! After the 3rd time it made a really loud noise over heated and stopped working. These are NOT good quality at all. More for looks.

I don*t like that design.  The bowl looked like it was right up to the popper, as far as it can go, and popcorn was still falling behind the bowl.  With my Great Northern popper, hardly any of it misses the bowl.  Mine doesn*t look as nice though :)
