After hating the custom paint job the Gas Monkey crew did on a ’68 Ford Galaxie, Richard Rawlings tasks them with taking apart and rebuilding the entire car again!

Season 1 was the best. A small shop with simpler builds under Aaron's direction and Richard's ego wasn't as big then as it is now.

I'm sure most, if not all of the drama is scripted, but still Rawlings is a master at coming across as a prick to his employees. Great job by the guys on the build. They should have no trouble getting better jobs elsewhere.

Beautiful, I wouled have nickel-plated the bumpers. I had a 69 Ford Torino Cobra. It was ordered with the drag pack which included a Super Cobra Jet 428 engine, 427 lemans connecting rods, functional ram air, oil cooler, Detroit locker, 4.30 gear set, staggered shocks. metal cobra emblems, etc

Cool I've got two of these. One I had since highschool. They look so much better with chrome bumpers. They went cheap on them.

In 68 it wasn’t a Galaxie, it was just called an ‘XL’. My father had one that was a Midnight Blue with a 302.

Beautiful car but I would have left the bumpers chrome just pulled them in closer and put the full vinyl top back on then lowered it just a little to give it a more aggressive stance but it is a beautiful car
