I Finally FOUND and TRIED marinated raw crab for the 1st time

Backstory! I went to Indiana for the first time in April of this year and met @mukjamy I told her that I review food, and she had been suggesting that I try Korean food for a while. After recently visiting LA, a YouTube-employed artist (I hope he sees this, because I can’t find his instagram to tag him) recommended that I try marinated raw crab. When I found out that there’s Korean food in LA, I was so excited that I could have run to H-mart barefoot on a handstand popping thy 🐱.
Now, let’s talk about having crabs. Raw marinated crabs are typically cleaned and then placed in a brine solution consisting of garlic, rice wine, soy sauce, lemon juice, and other ingredients. The crabs are then refrigerated to allow osmosis to do its magic. It works for up to three days, after which the dish is ready to eat. That sounds simple enough until I dug a little deeper. If you smoke cigarettes, your lungs are already at risk, so don’t worry, but for the rest of you, keep reading.
Google had the audacity to inform me that “consuming uncooked crab, even when marinated, carries a risk of lung fluke (fancy term for severe lung swelling that could potentially leave you as dead as the crab).” While paragonimus, the lung fluke, can be effectively treated, symptoms like fever, diarrhea, and chest pain can cause issues for several days or longer.
In conclusion
Crab: 7/10
Squid: 2/10
Shout out to the special guest @bigcamiam 😭😂
