Alexander Dobbin was one of the most influential figures in the early history of Gettysburg. Well known as a Scots-Irish Presbyterian minister and educator, it is his role as a land developer and entrepreneur that is less understood. Dobbin House owner Jackie White, discussed the year-long 1977-78 restoration of the building and how it has been transformed into the well-known restaurant and tavern of today.

Was smart enough to stop for dinner when there in 2010. Knew its history a bit but nothing like this. Learned a lot and want to revisit. Very well done - thank you.

Extremely interesting and fact filled presentation from a very charismatic speaker--and right at 1hour showing how well it was planned.

Nicely presented, been to Gettysburg 3 times and had not saw that house. I will be back in 2021 if the situation gets better by then. And instead of staying at the Colton hotel I would like to stay at the B&B for the time I am there. Thanks again for the tour and presentation. Stay healthy and safe.
