'Your Footage is Shaky'

I love reading the comments of these films, and I work off your feedback often, but this is something I felt I should explain!

Shooting handheld is the way I love to work, and at least 90% of my favourite docs are shot in this way.

How did you change your Minecraft skin and make it so realistic

I am a wildlife filmmaker, so a tripod is essential for most of my films. Sometimes, such as a film about spiders eating bees, handheld adds to the drama.

In short,
Tripods for longer lenses or smooth pans
Gimbals for smoothness, so if you want to take away the jitter of running then they are perfect. Also reflects the viewer as observing, such as a flashback or memories.
Handheld is for the gritty character perspective.

I agree with all this! I love how real the hand held look looks. I’ve been told as well to get a tripod but if it’s a creative decision then why change. Keep doing what you’re doing man, it’s great. You’re an inspiration to me and I’m sure many others

You instantly said what I was thinking. The camera basically becomes a person rather than just a camera. Making it a more personal feel like I'm there seeing it with my own eyes.
