Sir you proved b^2=4ac by taking b^2= 4ac
The correct way is to bring eqn to -2(ax^2 +bx+c), and then divide by -2, then since a+b+c=0, 1 is a solution and another root is C/A since product of roots is C/A and give. That a, b, c are rational, c/a is also is rational, hence bothe the roots are rational
