After trips to Baja Cal in 1991, Curacao in 1998, the Black Sea in 1999, Antalya, Turkey in 2006, and Fairmont, Nebraska in 2017, at last I get to stay home with three minutes in my back yard in Carrollton TX.

1:49 We were just outside of Doniphan MO. That was the most amazing thing I’ve seen in my entire life and I’m 50 years old. I’d pay just about any sum of money to see that again. I feel bad for anyone who missed it

Wife and I drove to southern Illinois for the 2017 one. It was great to see, glad we went, but trying to drive back was a nightmare.

I live in mexico. I live ~400 km from the path of totality so I plan to travel there and see the spectacle! I've been looking forward this eclipse since 2017.

The fact that it went right over where I live and where I grew up is eerie.

I traveled down from Kansas City to the missouri arkansas border area. Weather was great hardly any clouds. I didn’t get to see the 2017 totality but I made a 4.5 hour drive for this one and it was worth it.

Excellent animation! For anyone traveling by auto to see this, I recommend anticipating the snarled traffic on the way home. I lived in Central Illinois in 2017 and saw it down towards Chester. On 55 towards Litchfield it was a parking lot, but I was able to get off and take an alternate route. People were probably coming from as far north as Chicago.

Great visual of the moon’s shadow moving across the earth! After watching the August 2017 total solar eclipse from Missouri, I’m so happy the 2024 event is in my own backyard here in Texas. However, I only get 2 min 10 seconds of totality, so going to relatives’ houses to watch near the centerline (they’re in Kerrville and Center Point). 😎☀️🌑☀️

I'm going with a group to Evansville (~2h drive) to witness totality for the first. It's very special to me because this is also the day of my favorite teacher's birthday who has passed away.

I love how it passes over Muncie, Indiana like a UFO shadow…. Straight out of that scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
