What is the REAL Story of Song of Solomon?

Why do we think that the Song of Solomon describes physical intimacy and innuendo? What is the REAL story-line of the book? Could all of the so-called "suggestive content" in the book be explained simply as ancient poetic love language and nothing more? Can we really be sure? And what is the meaning of the book to us? I remember there was a time that I was feeling anxious, and fearful of some spiritual experiences that I started having. For comfort I would usually put on the word of God during bedtime. This would calm me most of the time. I remember one night the spirit of God, said sleep with the Songs of Solomon. I was a little hesitant but, I obeyed. Surprisingly that next morning I woke up feeling safe, protected and covered. I had no pain and neither did I wake up with anxious thoughts or feelings. I felt wholly loved and covered from the inside out. The best way to describe it is as a child I remember when I would get sick my mom would sit up with me until I feel asleep. Whenever I would open my eyes she was always there. Just knowing she was there made me feel better. This is the best I could describe my feelings after sleeping to the Songs of Solomon. Loved, Protected, and Safe in Yeshua’s Presence ❤️

I will be honest. I am came to the Lord when I was 24. I knew Song of Solomon was only 8 chapters, but I was never drawn to it because I just thought it was a simple love story I didn't NEED. I only read it one time a couple of years ago and it was very confusing to me and I merely thought "well, that's that!" I woke up this morning thinking I should read it again. I watched your video. I believe this is the most passionate love song that Jesus wants to sing to his bride. I believe this is the song of all songs that is sung by the lamb in the Book of Revelation

The shepherd is Solomon himself that went into the gardens disguised to a normal person and then he met shulamit…he was searching for wisdom…and asked her “who is the wisest of all” she in return said “the one who loves is the most humble and most wise”. That was the moment of the initiation of the wisdom of Solomon.

And although he failed God, who is love, did not left him.

And those souls, who truly loved, will never ever be truly separated.

It is truth that I spoke, and I hope it will give encouragement and hope to those that longing to that true, divine love.

I agree with your take on this book. I think that we can go a bit further as well. Is it not possible that the Shulamite represents us, the church, Solomon represents the world, trying to woo us away from the Shepherd with all the world’s flattery and the Shepherd represents Christ? I would be curious to read if the references to Shepherd are the same as the ones used elsewhere. In my eyes, your explanation of this book has far greater weight and validity that the “worldly” church views that see this as some form of Bible-kama sutra, and who use it to justify all manner of beliefs on sexual intiamcy. I am SOOO grateful for your explanation of this book. I was called to preach in 1997. The Spirit of God explained to me that the Shepherd was Jesus. I use SOS to teach Women who think less of themselves, how they are truly Loved, by the "Beloved". In a skit, I even wear a wedding gown to the. altar, and have the Women, join me, , to openly, and publicly, dedicate their lives in marriage, to "The Shepherd." I think this Song of Songs is inherently sexual and full of wholesome love.

Whatever spiritual meaning the Song might have, its immediate and obvious interpretation cannot be dismissed. God is the creator of sex, and those who are ashamed of sex are ashamed of the One who created it and who commanded mankind to "be fruitful and multiply". The Christian Church has a lot to answer for for denigrating that which God does not denigrate.
