Got to be one of the most ghoulish family portraits I've ever seen.

Many people say that Dennis looked ghoulish on that portrait, well so did his wife... The fact that a murder victim doesn't get to have a marked grave but the murderer does with colorful flowers on it, just goes to show that our entire world is ghoulish too.

How awful that she was murdered and doesn't have any kind of memorial while her killer does. Life is so unfair sometimes.

One of the secrets to making a video that's a pleasure to watch is to have NO background music or noise. Well done!

He gets flowers and a headstone while she cannot be found... kind of a metaphor of how perpetrators sometimes are more remembered than their victims

Normally don't judge a book by it's cover, but just one look at this portrait and I could tell he was evil.

Jeepers creepers nailed that scene so damn well. One of the all time best spine chilling moments in horror movie history.

The beginning scenes of the Jeepers Creepers movie was probably the most scariest thing I seen as a child 💯

The idea that a lone school is in the middle of nowhere is creepy enough.

If I knew exactly where she was buried and I had the financial means to do so I’d give her a headstone. She definitely deserves one. Rest In Peace

I am from Coldwater, MI and my father was a police officer there when this happened. I have been to that school house several times as a kid, both before and after the incident. Marilyn was my high school guidance counselor. I went to school with their kids and I worked in the attendance office when this all went down. When Dennis was on the run and no one knew where he was, I remember the kids names were changed on all documentation in the school to protect them in case he came back for them. A few weeks after that day, the kids were pulled out of school all together and moved with Marilyn's family. The Monday following the day this happened, I was at the police station with my father while they had the APB out for him. This was a HUGE deal in the tiny town of 10, 000 people. It still makes me cringe when I think about how all of this went down.

I love that the two Thorntons behaved as if they had NEVER seen a single horror movie in their entire lives.
That's heroic in it's own right. Seriously.

This happened in my home town when I was 12 years old. She was a counselor at Coldwater Schools. My brothers and I are in the original airing of Unsolved Mysteries sitting outside our local library. Haven’t seen or thought about this for 20 years. Very sad! But great video!

The beginning of Jeepers Creepers and that scary truck that was tailgating was always the scariest thing I have ever seen.
Knowing that it’s true makes me even more scared.

That is sad Marilyn was someone's daughter, mother and maybe sister and knowing she has nothing is truly heartbreaking, RIP Marilyn .

I was 5 when this happened. My older sister was friends with one of the Depue girls. I remember all the chaos. My sister took off to go to their house to make sure her friend was ok when word started getting around via landlines. My mom was worried about my sister and trying to get her to come home and not go over to their house. I'm pretty sure he had been going psycho for quite some time. I remember something about tunnels being found under the house. It's been over 30 years and I've only had a couple conversations with my family about it. I remember when the Unsolved Mysteries story came out, my whole family (and probably everyone in town) was gathered around the TV. One of the victims in the Leonard Lake and Charles Ng killings killings was also from Coldwater, MI area. I'm pretty sure the story of Lake and Ng was the inspiration for the movie "Gothika."

It's amazing how many of the most outlandish horror stories are derived from true stories.

This is scary.

Dennis actually looked creepy he could of played a part in ‘The Adams Family’ or ‘Munsters’.

After seeing that portrait, the most shocking part of this entire story is they found him later on living with a girlfriend…

This video was done really well. The presenter is so genuine, so real, his breathing gives him away of how intrigued he is about the mystery. He definitely needs to keep doing these kinds of videos.
