Great video!
In many ways to me its like night and day, there are so different, having said that I do love both!

It is nice to see the modern MINI having some similarities between the old 72' Mini, such as the barn style doors.

My Dad had a 2008 MINI Clubman with the suicide door, and to me it looked so cool and has a lot of attention at MINI shows from people who had never seen the door design before! 👍😃

Love the classic’72. I did think that when both bonnets were open the BMW Mini wanted to eat the classic, looked like it would fit too.

So true about appreciating the new ones if you've driven one, I did and totally loved it, so tight and together on the road

Informative video. I drove a modern Clubman as a courtesy car in 2020 & it was undeniably pleasant to drive & very smooth but the classic Clubman has soul.

Great video 👍 I am a fan of both old and new. Nice to see you explained why modern mini's are so big. Can't stand the "it's not a mini" statement the BMW ones get.

Evening Marc, given you gave me the heads up that this was coming up, I had to skip the older content that I’m behind on to watch it. 😀 As an F54 Cooper S Exclusive owner, MINI fan (of all derivatives), and a classic car enthusiast and petrol head, this was brilliant content. A very fair and balanced view mate. I get that the later models lack the charm and concept underpinnings of the originals but I don’t sit on the sacrilege fence either. I’m thrilled to see MINI operating as a brand still, something that might not have been possible without the investment of BMW. The evolution phases have still tried to retain some of the heritage to satisfy new and old consumers, think headlights, barn doors etc, and still meet the ever stringent safety regulations too. Sadly, the days of the F54 are numbered, I believe there will only be another year or so of production. With MINI targeting electric only in quick fashion, there’ll be no successor of the same style, likely a smaller Countryman SUV perhaps. Gone will be the unique 6 door configuration from the production line. Great to see the two side by side. Both look great and both are bound to put a smile on the drivers face for different reasons. Looking forward to the F54 driving review and more content on both to come. Cheers.

.. .. good objective comparison .. having driven a New MINI Cooper '66 plate hatchback (company car) - well built, quick but unsurprisingly my preference votes for the Old Timer .. now were is my Fertan

The size of the Bini next to the original 😱 I had found somewhere that rover designed the new mini and had a prototype before BMW bought it

Wow can't believe the mechanical doors opened as quick as the electronic, the mind boggles.

In my opinion it's sacrilege to call that modern monstrosity German junk a
There will only ever in my mind be the old classic mini.

The F54 is the way the new Clubman should always have been, that one door on the wrong side was pathetic on the previous model, I'd have one as a daily with the 3 pot in it and keep the true Clubman estate classic as my special car.

l think fiat did a better job of the 500. Put them together and they look similar even if the new one is bigger.i always wished BMW had done the same with the mini.

Modern Mini is not a true mini the original clubman estate is a true mini. As an older driver who had 2 mini 's for a six year s the new mini is as big as say a Fiesta. That is not mini and never will be. I worked with cars for many years and have had bad reports on modern Mini. The old mini never let me down,
