Now that's one of the coolest things i've seen yet, so the question is do you have to have dive certification to buy or use this

1:26 Don't need a BCD... just use the buttons on the helmet? So all of your positive buoyancy is in your head? I mean we will still need neoprene to stay warm (not all of us are warm water divers) and if there is no BCD, then all the weight is on your waist. Unless of course I guess we start wearing neck weight belts?
Does it seal around your neck/head to keep water out / gas in ? I mean the helmet would HAVE to maintain ambient pressure or 10 feet down you would not be able to breathe. That seems like a lot of psi on a neck seal.
The back looks open? How would they ever seal the pressure in with anyone with hair? 1:24
I know he said depth/time does not matter, yet there IS a pressure cylinder in the "center top". If that is compensating for depth, then you DO have some sort of limit. Maybe if that is it's only function it is sufficient given the small volume in the helmet. However he also said that can be filled with a simple hand pump?


Unfortunately it seems like this guy is a salesman, not a diver.

A $4-$5 airfill vs $25-$30 per dive with this after the $4000 entry price and no way to bail out your buddy?

I realize this is still in the testing/dev phase, but no, I am not sold on this.

Buy you're self 3 nice return plane tickets, rent equipment, have a top vacation.
It is nice to see something like these. But until I see a diver using these for 10 dives, I am not getting in one of those.

The only thing I really don't like about it is its only held on by a strap in the back. I think it should be more like a full motorcycle-type helmet, which would also provide protection.

neat tech. I am a cold water diver and don't know how well an all in one unit on the head would work while doing a surface swim to a dive site. If they can figure out a way to build it into a more universal design i think they will be onto something.

Looks cool . Is there a tank with diluent to dilute the o2 ?? What replaces the LOOP and the process that take place in the loop ?? Do you still need a separate air source for bcs and drysuits ?? Many thanks .

This think is never gonna replace the traditional SCUBA. We don’t need this. You can’t replace all this process that make you scuba diver. It will never change this. Don’t throw your money.

Might be a fun thing to chuck on and coral dive in 10-30 feet or water without having to suit up in a ton of comicated gear etc..if shit happens at 30 feet no real problem. If you were really paranoid just carry a small 15 min safety bottle. But no way would I go any deeper than that and certainly you'd have to be brave or insane to go to their claimed 42 metres!!

I'm a big guy, how is that supposed to give me enough buoyancy to get neutral? And not sure how comfortable that will be with all your buoyancy is at your head yanking on your neck? The system sounds cool but all of it in the helmet with no other gear?

How does it adjust for PO2 at depth if it only produces oxygen? Do you need a small diligent tank as well? As for adjusting bouncy on your head, yeah, no! I’d stick with dry suit and a small gas bottle or bcd and a small gas bottle. Actually not small bottles but bottles large enough to act as bail out if shit goes south

For $4K I could get a really high end setup for Scuba diving and be a lot more comfortable without the dead weight of that helmet on my head. Call me old fashioned.
