Good for you Daimler! Don't let the state push you to make electric semi trucks.

Truckers could end the electric truck fiasco by refusing to deliver freight in or out of California and Oregon. 2 weeks no freight and both states would end this program altogether.

Not only should Daimler pull out of Oregon, but no freight should flow into or out of the state. Companies should move headquarters from Oregon to Idaho or to other states more friendly to the trucking industry. Let the Government of Oregon figure out how to supply their state with food, clothing and move the state's lumber export out of state.

If they really wanted to put their foot down they would move their plant to a better State a more redder state

The company made the right choice. They should also consider moving all of their operations from the state. Drivers should not accept loads to any state that has these rules on the books. You don't want no trucks, you don't get no trucks - or anything that comes on a truck.

Electric makes no sense for heavy hauling. Current battery capacity technology would require an extensive charging network that would be an enormous infrastructure undertaking. Also the battery weight itself would either reduce the capacity of loads or there would need to be about 5 times as many trucks to move the same freight. Batteries would need technology improvements in the range of 500% minimum for capacity to be roughly equal to diesel equivalent in terms of space and weight. Or in other words, electric ain’t frickin happenin any time soon.

I don’t want an electric truck. I just want my intermittent wiper setting back on a Freightliner. I’m so glad I’ll be retiring soon. Where the hell are trucks going to charge in the middle of nowhere? You think there’s low mileage on a car battery, imagine how fast it’ll need charging on a big rig?!

I wouldn't mind electric motors placed on the trailer tandems. Only active when traveling uphill. Recharge on the downhill.

Is it true that Oregon just outlawed truck manufacturers from using wood burning engines in class 8 trucks?

800K Volkswagen EV has just been hacked. If they do it with cars, they can do it to rigs.
