Classical Crossover Music (full video)

Classical Crossover Music is described as having elements form the "classical" or "western concert music" canon but presented in a new and more relevant way. In this video, I showcase my composition for Guitar, Cello, Violin and electronics called "Shanghai Express". I wrote this piece while on tour in China after being blown away by the contrast of nature and the most impressive metropolis I've ever seen. The music is a good representation of all the new surroundings as seen from the perspective of a tourist. The tuning in the end is very nice, precicely the way it has to be. It's a little off, but spot on. Having a mechanical pulse for three minutes is ok, but five minutes would be more difficult to keep interesting without some live action. It's always a breeze when a composer aiming for this kind of music is well established in harmony and voice leading.

Definite Oriental Classical Crossover, the very start was most moving for me. I've always loved Japanese classical and this has some really soothing aspects. I feel like it would work well within a film with some lost love aspect, someone finding their way. Really moving. Good work.
