To avoid being shot at as a Closed Column (+1 to hit) those British infantry could simply have formed Open Column, with a one-base gap between each group.

Grand game lads, and a very well put together scenario - would love to see something like this again but reversed with the French attacking and a small force of British Skirmishers and Riflemen defending.

As for 46:52 Skirmishers spread their shots the same as everyone else when it comes to formations, only if it’s an independent group can they focus fire.

Also you can use multiple Sharp Practice on the same unit.
I.e. an example would be you sharp practice a British line unit, it presents and fires, you then activate them normally and advance and reload them, then sharp practice them again to present and fire.
It’s what makes British infantry and French Cannon so deadly during the period as you could legit fire the French Cannon Twice per round.

Always great to see some more Sharp Practice. Between the three periods you play, which would you recommend to introduce new players into the historical setting? I’m tempted to use the ACW as the uniforms are easier to paint in mass but I’m afraid of it turning into the 48” rifle musket slug fest. Thoughts?

Harper would have been fine, he's been shot at by rockets before by the RA, Sharpe too, can't remember which episode it was though. :)

one question your sailors wiped out the gun crew and "captured" a loaded gun why not have them turn the gun on the French and fire off one round, also as sailors they probably bare trained to man cannons maybe you should have a special rule t allow for this

I liked the concept; it just needs some fine tuning. You might want to think about making it easier for Sharpe and the sailors to come in sooner. It should shorten the game although the luck of the cards in the greatest variable. I enjoyed it, but it did run rather long, before the editing.
