This movie truly has the potential to be big as the Lord Of The Rings, the Marvels and the Harry Potters. If someone like Peter Jackson directed it and had the same budget (They had $150M for TLA movie and shabadabadingdong ruined it, that's $50M more than Lord Of The Rings) then this movie would be BIG.

We could easily have 3-6 movies based on the story and it would be epic to watch. Also bring in the writers of the show as producers. A potential goldmine for Hollywood if they used their brains.

I didn't discover ATLA until recently and I immediately fell in love.  Maybe by the time TLOK wraps up, Hollywood will be ready to start over with new movies.  They could further break away from association with the M. Night Stinker by changing the title to "The Legend of Aang, " which is what ATLA is already known as outside the US.

Its a shame Airbender was terrible its was my childhood show and was by far one of the best Nick shows of all time (IMO) So reboot it nah I rather have my cartoon and thats it and on the sequel side the first was bad enough =/

Just like Denis has that special place for the last surrender, I have a special place for Spiderman 3 even though it was really bad I was 12 I believe and at that time I really didn't know what a bad movie was and I really enjoyed it.

Have Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic) and his brother Rob reboot it. I've seen their vlogs on Avatar and Korra - they know the shows inside and out.

If they were to reboot The Last Airbender movie franchise, I would love to see it done with Mike and Bryan behind the wheel and do it with 2D animation that we know and love. Whether it's a story about the old Team Avatar or the new Team Avatar, or even an Avatar from the past or future. It's completely pointless to have such a perfect show be shortened and in live-action for just a movie.

It's really simple. Just show a highlight reel of the show to get the studios caught up and interested. THEN, you hire Christopher Nolan to direct & write it & pay him however much necessary to secure him, then secure the original creators for supervision & lastly, patiently wait for the hottest movie to ever come out in the history of cinema.

I think what angered me the most about the movie was the "bending". Too much movement to move an element once. It took 6 guys moving too much in unison done badly to move one little rock (a rock the size of a chihuahua's head) and the rules of the movie's continuity regarding fire bending has a tendency to disconnect from itself.

I agree with john, the trailers had me pumped for the movie, i fucking loved the first trailer with the candles and then the fire nation ships :O the temple... it was all perfect in my eyes... WHY M NIGHT SHAMAMALLAMA-SAMA

My kids and I looked forward to seeing this movie since the animated series was absolutely fantastic.  It's a shame!  The live action was so disappointing that to this day we still make fun of it!

They needed it to be 2 parts so that fit everything, and especially get better actors and director. I am the miencraft avatar and world's BIGGEST fan of the show!!! Make firebenders create fire! Fix the names! Fix the costumes! Ugh Shamalan! FIX

Totally Agree with Dennis. My friends and I also had a memorable time, at midnight. Our crowd had random fans shouting multiple choice questionnaires. I vaguely remember a stuffed APA floating down front row  Yes, all the trailers had us fooled as well. To this day, I'm at a loss as to why/how Shyamalan messed up the whole thing. All things leading up to the event pointed at Shyamalan really loving the series to the point where his family was just obsessed with it like we all were.

Love how they explained this. I went to the Midnight showing with my Best friend and her brother and we both did Cosplay like many of the others who went to the midnight showing. And like they said how people started making fun of it during the movie is so right. Everyone started laughing at the pronunciations of the names.

I remember before hand some of the people started asking the whole theater trivia on the show. That was so fun.

I’m a few years late writing this post. I think TLA needs to be handled with care. There’s so much character development and so many little details. You can’t make this movie without leaving them out. I think this show would make a great live action on Netflix Series or something along those lines. This could even be a movie in theaters but could have like 12-16 parts. It would be a no brainer! So much money could be made and so much story telling. It could give recognition to new actors. It would be a win-win on both ends if executed correctly. There’s so many ideas for a live action. If I had the money, I would make sure this story would be told beautifully from the choreograph, filming style, acting, and all the little elements that make the culture. It could be so realistic!!

I`m still hoping for a new movie from the avatar universe, maybe this time with the topic of Korra (most of the people, who grew up with Aang are now way older, so the movie needs a more
sophisticated topic than in the original series). The potential to do that is still there, but this time DiMartino and Konietzko should be a part, at least as creativ consultants.

I didn't think the movie was that bad, I actually liked it, wished they kept going

To be honest, I enjoyed this movie because I watched it without ever seeing any of the animated episodes. Since seeing the flick, I did watch the animated episodes and was able to recognize the flaws in the film. I think if it were possible to completely divorce the movie from the TV show that it's based on and judge it by its own merits, it's not a bad flick.
