A video of a two-week vacation on the island of Kos and the neighboring islands in the Dodecanese archipelago - Pserimos, Kalimnos and Nisyros. The video was recorded using DJI Osmo Pocket, GoPro Hero 5 and the DJI Spark drone. We were on the island at the second part of September and beginning of October - when the weather is perfect :)
Kos is not a large island, but it is very beautiful. In the north there are lowlands and tourist resorts. In the south of the island, there are quite high mountains with the largest peak Dikeos (843 m above sea level). The capital of the island is the city of the same name - Kos. If you like to actively spend time on sightseeing and at the same time you like to eat well, I recommend choosing the capital of the island as a starting point. There are no large and modern tourist resorts here, but the city itself is beautiful and well connected with the rest of the island. If, on the other hand, you want to lie on a sunbed by the hotel pool, I recommend choosing one of the smaller towns like Agios Fokas, Tigaki, Marmari or Mastichari. The island is a paradise for lovers of two-wheelers - bicycles (there are a lot of bicycle paths here) and scooters (it is the basic means of transport for residents). Regardless of whether you choose a bicycle, scooter or car, the island has a very large number of rentals that offer very good price conditions.
What surprised us the most during the holidays? Islanders. I have heard that they are very hospitable, but you have to go there to learn what true hospitality. Everyone is smiling, when they get to know you, they wave to you on the street and are always eager to talk. The second thing that captivated me? Of course, the food :) Everything we ate - from grilled meat, vegetarian dishes to seafood, was delicious. And of course the wine. We've been to two local wineries and the wine in both was delicious.
