Conan is the Greatest Talk Show host of all time. There's no one currently on TV that comes close to him.

I'd never seen Conan this young. Who would've thought that around 30 years later, Conan would end his late-night show hosting career as one of the best ever.

Letterman couldn't have been any more gracious, welcoming and supportive in that interview!

My 2 favorite hosts ever. What a treat it was to stay up late, watch Letterman, then watch Conan after.

The beginning of the legend of late night comedy. Letterman is a legend all his own, but for somebody who was a teen when Conan first took the air and have watched him all the way deep into my late adulthood…he is just simply the best. Super funny, witty, goofy, but also insanely intelligent, passionate and caring. His skits over the years are some of my all time favorite and the has given me some of the hardest laughs in my life. This is awesome to watch the very beginnings of what is too become a legendary career.

Conan is so quick witted, he was the best. I had a teacher in college whom I really liked who talked and looked just like him (although he wasn't red-haired), that made me like Conan even more.

Lorne Michaels’ will always have my respect for seeing what no one else did. Conan’s name should have gone down as a joke. His show along with the Chevy chases. A jeopardy question. Yet he turned out to be the funniest person ever on tv. Amazing.

For the younger people who may not know, there's a clear lineage when it comes to late night TV. Steve Allen started it all on the original Tonight Show, and he was Letterman's inspiration. Jack Paar succeeded Allen, and he was very good in his own right but had a different style. Johnny Carson took it from there and was must-see TV for 30 years. Letterman came along near the end of Carson's run, and he was revolutionary (even though much of his act was inspired by Allen). Conan was a worthy successor to all who came before him, but he wasn't better than any of them. And yet, he was far better than anyone who has come along since.
