If you have bad internet sometimes the walls don't load in time and you can get out. That's how I did it.

If you use the egg tracker then it does show you that there are LOTS of golden eggs outside the map

The golden eggs that they're talking about is the golden egg of Kings, the egg you get in game before you get the wings/dominus.
