h perm is the first pll algorithm i learned and just you know there is like 28 extra pll algorithms

This is only half true.
If headlights are all around the last layer, it can be a U perm, H perm, or Z perm.

Doesn't work. Got headlights and remains the same. What I noticed is the edge pieces have to be opposite to the centre on the other side. If say Blue edge infront with a blue centre to the right side it will continue to give you headlights.

While this can be repeated a second time in a worse case scenario this is good for an opposite edge swap. If it’s a diagonal swap there’s an alg for that too that can save time.

I can do a rubix cube faces without any techniques on YouTube but I always am missing 2 blocks for each face that I can’t seem to get together without messing up the rest.

That's a good method, but I use R' U R' U' R' U' R' U R U RR (Repeat until solved, and remember if there is one solved side put it to the back, and good luck!)
